Integral Model Test for Inertia-Equilibrium Filling and Emptying System of High Head Single Lock in Yangxi Hydro Project
The maximum design head of Yangxi shiplock is 32.8 meters, which is the second highest water head single lock in Guangxi. It is designed to use inertia-equilibrium filling and emptying system for navigation of 1000 tons ships. The hydraulic characteristics of the designed filling and emptying system were studied by conducting the overall model test with a scale of 1∶25.The test results show that the hydraulic indexes of the design scheme under the normal operation condition of the lock basically meet the requirements of the specification, and the transverse mooring force of the ship is greater than the allowable value of the specification only under the maximum design head condition; After adopting the intermittent opening mode of opening the water conveyance valve for eight minutes and staying at the opening degree of n=0.4 for two minutes, the mooring force can meet the requirements of the specification. The model test results show that the selection and layout of the water conveyance system are reasonable, which provides the basis and technical support for the design and safe passage of the ship.
