Discussion on Scheme for Configuring Two Sets of SFC in Pumped Storage Power Stations with Four Units
According to the specification, when the number of pumped storage power station units is less than six,a set of static frequency converter(SFC)should be selected, and the back-to-back synchronous starting(BTB)should be used as the standby starting mode.In recent years, many construction enterprises have proposed the scheme of configuring two sets of SFC in pumped storage power stations with four units. In order to fully demonstrate the rationality of this scheme, the authors compare this scheme with the recommended scheme from the perspective of system scheduling, power station operation, equipment layout and life cycle cost. The results show that this scheme has many advantages, such as higher success rate of unit starting, faster response to power grid demand and simplified operation and management of power station. With the deepening of SFC localization, the life cycle cost will be further reduced, and the advantages of this scheme will be more obvious, which can be used as a reasonable alternative for unit starting mode.
