Design of Zero Discharge Treatment System for Process Wastewater in Coal-Fired Power Plant
A coal-fired power plant in Hong Kong has upgraded its reuse water treatment system in response to the zero discharge policy. The authors introduce the design principle and process flow of the project, summarize the design highlights and existing problems, put forward suggestions for improvement, and analyze the project cost and benefits. The operation results of the wastewater zero discharge treatment system show that the water resource recovery rate reaches 92%,and the municipal tap water consumption can be saved by about 220 t for the power plant every year, which has considerable environmental and social benefits. The research results have certain reference significance for how to deal with general power plant wastewater to achieve zero discharge.
