Comprehensive Evaluation on Drought Resistance of Peanuts at Different Growth Stages
A pot experiment was conducted to simulate drought stress at different growth stages of peanut by means of water control in rain-proof shelter.Drought resistance indicators such as yield and agronomic traits were investigated, and drought resistance coefficient method and multi-character membership function method were used to analyze and evaluate the drought resistance of nine Shang-hua series peanut varieties. The results showed that the yield of peanut decreased by 9.91%-46.86%,16.80%-86.62%,and 63.99%-97.29% respectively at the seedling stage,flower-pegging stage, and whole growth period under drought conditions. The strong drought resistant varieties including Shan-ghua21,Shanghua33,and Shanghua43 were screened out by the drought resistance coefficient method and the drought resistance comprehensive evaluation value(D)in different drought periods.Under drought condi-tions at different growth stages, the biomass after root removal, number of pod-bearing branches, and fruit mass per plant were significantly or extremely correlated with drought resistance coefficient, which can be used as indicators for drought resistance identification of peanut varieties. The results of this study can provide theoretical reference for regional extension of the new drought resistant Shanghua series peanut varieties and screening of excellent drought resistant germplasm resources.
