Performance evaluation of phase discrimination with accumulation for asymmetric interferometer
Considering the need of high-precision phase discrimination for asymmetric interferometer,the ac-curacy of indirect and direct phase estimator is evaluated theoretically and verified via simulation based on the sig-nal model,where indirectivity and directivity refer to whether the estimator utilize amplitude and phase from high-gain channel.The results show that for a typical asymmetric interferometer,the accuracy of two kinds of estima-tor is comparable for single-tone pulse,and indirect phase estimator could bring about significant improvement on-ly when the modulation makes the sub-band signal-to-noise ratio lower than 2 dB in low-gain channel.
