Defects Control on Sheet Hydroforming of Superalloy Annular Shell in Aero-engine
A novel forming method for manufacturing the annular shell in aero-engine utilizing hydro forming was proposed to solve the problem of cracking and wrinkling. The process parameters were optimized by theoretical analysis and simulation, and the experiment was carried out to deeply explore the influence of process parameters on forming defects. The results showed that the wrinkling tendency decreases with the increase of the liquid pressure. The maximum thinning rate of the part decreases gradually under appropriate blank holder force. The surface wrinkling and cracking of the annular shell in aero-engine can be significantly suppressed by sheet hydroforming. This new method can effectively solve the problem of the forming and manufacturing of the annular shell in aero-engine.
