Research on the Thinning Technology of the Inlet Edge of the Inductor
The traditional technique for thinning the inlet edge of the inducer wheel is manual thinning. This process determines the consistency of the product size and has a significant influence on the water test head and the net positive suction head of the turbopump.Hence,a numerically controlled thinning process method was proposed.A physical inducer wheel with superior water test performance was selected as the benchmark, and the three-dimensional model was reconstructed through reverse engineering.Subsequently, the reconstructed model was utilized for numerical control programming,post-processing of the program, process simulation, and finally, the processed product was subjected to a hydraulic test for verification. The results indicated that the inlet edge of the inducer wheel thinned by numerical control exhibits better consistency in size, smaller dispersion in water test head and NPSH,and an increased product qualification rate.Simultaneously,by converting the benchmark, the uniformity of the benchmark was ensured, enabling the completion of blade processing and the removal of excess material with a single clamping. As a result, the processing efficiency was enhanced by 41.5%and the labor intensity was alleviated.
