Running education that satisfies the people is the fundamental goal of education in China,and public satis-faction with educational resources is an important criterion for measuring educational work.Taking Shouxian County compulsory education schools in Anhui Province as the research object,a satisfaction evaluation index system was con-structed.The satisfaction and implicitly derived importance of county compulsory education resource allocation were stud-ied through the modified IPA method.The results showed that the public paid the most attention to the school's teacher-student ratio,number of class students,teaching and auxiliary housing area,and student commuting status,and was most satisfied with government support,school bus system,and public participation,but was not satisfied with the sup-porting facilities of the school.The study categorized the evaluation indicators into four quadrants:advantage zone,disad-vantage zone,improvement zone,and maintenance zone.Optimization configuration suggestions were proposed for differ-ent quadrants to provide support for the high-quality and balanced development of compulsory education in the county in the new era.
