Between Dao and Matter——A Study on the Thought of Learning in Huainanzi
The diversity of values held by the authors of the Huainanzi leads to the contradiction of the thought of learning in the book.Both the Taoist and Confucian authors of the Huainanzi attach great importance to the cognition of the world of existence,but they interpret it in distinct ways,which are derived from different values and horizons around this conception.Based on this,the two groups of authors maintain different cognition of the role of man in the develop-ment of all things,and produce two different views of"non-interference"in responding to the world.It is the various val-ue positions and horizons that form different conceptions and ways of engaging with the world,which leads to the opposi-tion of the thoughts of learning.
