To explore the effect of stressful life events on postgraduates'perceived academic self-efficacy and its mechanism,a total of 354 postgraduates were tested by the postgraduates'of perceived academic self-efficacy question-naire,the self-rating depression scale,the simplified coping style questionnaire and the stressful life events scale.The re-sult shows:Stressful life events have negative predictive effect on postgraduates'of perceived academic self-efficacy and depression.Depression plays a completely mediating role between stressful life events and postgraduates'of perceived ac-ademic self-efficacy.Positive coping modulated the latter half of the mediating pathway of depression;That is,depression and positive coping styles have moderating mediating effects on the relationship between stressful life events and postgrad-uates'of perceived academic self-efficacy.This study further revealed postgraduates'of perceived academic self-efficacy,which can be effectively improved by reducing stressful life events,reducing depression and adopting appropriate positive coping styles.
