Research on the Impact of Trade Openness on Fiscal Revenue and Expenditure——Evidence Based on the Establishment of Free Trade Zones
With the evolution of the global geopolitical landscape,the international trade environment undergoes cor-responding changes,which in turn exert impacts on fiscal revenues and expenditures.This article selects data from 229 prefecture level cities from 2004 to 2022,and uses a difference in differences model to analyze the impact of trade openness on fiscal revenue and expenditure based on the perspective of free trade zones.Research has found that the establishment of free trade zones has increased regional fiscal revenue and expenditure,with the establishment of free trade zones having the greatest impact on fiscal revenue and expenditure in the middle area.At the same time,coastal free trade zones and inland free trade zones have significant impacts on fiscal revenue and expenditure respectively.Government departments should use free trade zones as a starting point to continuously promote high-level opening up to the outside world,opti-mize fiscal and tax policies to improve the scientific and accurate nature of fiscal revenue and expenditure,and comprehen-sively use fiscal revenue and expenditure tools to cultivate new quality productivity.
