"Investigation of Si River Estuary"by Zhang Xuhou,published in the commencing issue of"Jiangsu Studies"in 1935,is a dissertation with important academic value and practical significance in the geographically definition,important role in histori-cal development and innovation of research method.But now it is rarely mentioned,instead,a paper with the same title scribbled down from the manuscript were published recently in Collected Papers.It is full of mistakes and omissions by transcription error.So it is necessary to emphasize and read the original dissertation,and also perfect and correct some arguments in it.
