Preparation Characterization of the Immobilized Algae Inhibiting Microorganism
In order to investigate the effect of immobilization on the inhibitory activity of an algicidal microorganism,Bacillus Siamensis 0910-33,this study prepared immobilized microspheres in six combinations, and then analyzed the physical properties and inhibitory performance of the micro-spheres.The results showed that the immobilized microspheres(SA-PVA-AC)prepared with 2%so-dium alginate 6%polyvinyl alcohol 1%activated carbon had better mechanical strength and mass transfer performance than the others, and the inhibition rate reached(78.87±4.88)%after 4 days of co culture with Phaeocystis globosa. It was also found that SA-PVA-AC exhibited a similar long-term inhibitory ability to the free strain, and more importantly, the pre-activated immobilized micro-spheres could still maintain an inhibition rate of(76.34±2.21)%against microalgae growth after five repeated uses. The results provide technical support for the application of immobilized algae-ly-sing microorganisms in algal bloom control.
