Study on the Spatial and Temporal Evolution of Impervious Surface and Its Impact on Ecological Environment in Huaian City
In order to investigate the impact of impervious surface evolution on urban ecological envi-ronment quality in small and medium-sized cities.Based on Landsat images from 2000 to 2020,this paper monitors and analyzes the impact of impervious surface on the ecological environment in Huai'an City using the impervious surface index(NDISI)and remote sensing ecological evaluation index(RSEI).The results showed that:(1)the area of impervious surface in Huai'an City increased signifi-cantly from 2000 to 2020,gradually expanding from the city center to the periphery in a spreading and leapfrog development pattern, with an average annual growth rate of 8.5%,and the fastest growth during the period of 2008-2012.The abundance of impervious surface spatially decreased gradually from the urban center to the periphery, with the average annual value increasing from 0.261 in 2000 to 0.330 in 2020.(2)The ecological environment quality improved during the study period, with the area of poor and average ecological environment quality grades decreasing, while the good and excellent grades increased by 1,677.01 km2 and 672.1 km2,respectively.(3)NDISI abundance was negatively correlated with urban ecological environment quality, and impervious surfaces were increasingly asso-ciated with ecological environment quality during the study period.
