Study on the thermal performance of pumping wet shotcrete with phase change materials based on CFD numerical simulation
As the mining depth of major gold mines around the world increases,high-temperature surrounding rock transfers a significant amount of heat to the airflow in roadways, thereby significantly raising the air temperature. The use of insulating materials on roadway surfaces has proved to be an effective method for improving the thermal environment of underground workplaces. This study validates the functionality of pumping wet shotcrete with phase change materials(PWS-MPCM),previously developed for roadway support, using fluid dynamics numerical simulation to analyze the temperature distribution within the surrounding rock. The results show that PWS-MPCM significantly impacts the temperature distribution within the surrounding rock and exhibits excellent thermal insulation and temperature control properties. This study demonstrates that PWS-MPCM can be a fundamental solution for mitigating heat hazards in deep gold mines.
