Experimental study on improving the grade of a gold concentrate in Liaoning
The ore mineral composition of a gold mine in Liaoning is relatively complex, with a raw ore gold grade of 2.90 g/t.The gold minerals are fine-grained and associated with significant amounts of carbon and floatable gangue minerals. The metallic minerals in the ore are primarily pyrite and arsenopyrite. The ore is rich in flaky minerals such as sericite, muscovite, biotite, and graphite, which adversely affect gold recovery.Gold occurs mainly as native gold with fine granularity, primarily embedded in pyrite and between pyrite and gangue minerals, with only a small fraction distributed within gangue minerals. To improve the grade of gold concentrate,SK-503 was selected as an activator, while butyl xanthate and SK-9011 were used as combined collectors for gold.No.2 oil was employed as the frother. The process involved a single-stage grinding with grinding fineness of-0.075 mm accounting for 93%,followed by once roughing. The roughing concentrate was classified and re-ground(second-stage grinding with grinding fineness of-0.038 mm accounting for 98%),then subjected to two-stage cleaning and two-stage scavenging. The closed-circuit test resulted in a gold concentrate with a grade of 25.89 g/t and a gold recovery rate of 88.25%,effectively enhancing the economic benefits of the enterprise.
