Geological characteristics and prospecting directions of Jizhua Gold Deposit in Baiyun gold ore concentration area,Eastern Liaoning
Baiyun gold ore concentration area is located in Baiyun-Xiaotongjiapuzi National Key Exploration Area for gold mines in Fengcheng,Liaoning. The district is divided into 3 mineralized belts along Jianshanzi Fault, transitioning from a near EW to a near NWW trend from north to south. The distribution of gold deposits has certain metallogenic specificity with the stratigraphic distribution of the Dashiqiao Formation and the Gaixian Formation of the Liaohe Group.Certain exploration breakthroughs have been made in the deep and peripheral sections of the district, with Jizhua Gold Deposit, located in the Baiyun-Fengjia-Shipenggoubei Gold Belt, being a notable recent discovery. The outcropping strata mainly consist of the Paleoproterozoic Dashiqiao Formation of the Liaohe Group.Using a metallogenic structural belt tracing approach,9 ore bodies were identified through exploration, with average grades of 6.41 g/t gold and 29.83 g/t silver. The ore body occurs predominantly within NEE-nearly EW trending mineralized alteration zones, dipping south or southwest at angles of 10° to 70°.Orebody types are alteration rock-type in the eastern part of the district, while orebody types are quartz vein-type in the western part.Alteration is dominated by K-feldspar and silicic processes.Geochemical anomalies for multiple metals like gold and silver, along with geophysical low-resistivity and high-polarization anomalies, are key prospecting indicators. The deposit is classified as metamorphic-hydrothermal in genesis.
