Based on the research methods of framework theory and the critical discourse analysis,269 news reports covering primary and secondary school teachers from five American news media(2018 to 2021)were used as the corpus to explore the media images of American primary and secondary school teachers.The results show that,from the macro level,the media image of American primary and secondary school teachers tends to be diversified.From the micro level,the media images of American primary and seconda-ry school teachers can be divided into educational and social images.Their educational image is character-ized by negatively low professional quality.Their social image has three characteristics:American primary and secondary school teachers not only receive low professional treatment,but also act as a mirror reflec-ting multicultural conflicts,and have American Federation of Teachers to protect their interests.
