To investigate the influence of family educational input on the development of non-cognitive abil-ities of secondary school students,this paper conducted an empirical analysis study using field research da-ta from 9 secondary schools in Hubei Province.The results of the study showed that there were significant group differences in the family education investment of secondary school students,and families with higher education level and better economic status of parents attached more importance to family education invest-ment.Family education investment has a significant positive effect on the development of non-cognitive a-bility of secondary school students,and the effect shows significant group differences with gender,par-ents'educational background and family economic status.The implications of this study are:parents should pay attention to parent-child communication and improve their own family education literacy;schools should highlight and strengthen the guiding role of school education in family education invest-ment;and the government should increase support for families of disadvantaged secondary school students and provide them with educational compensation.
