Research on Fusion Splicing Technology of Multi Core Fiber
The actual trunk multi-core fiber(MCF)splicing is studied by a 10-kilometer of 7-core fiber for long distance transmission and the splicing parameters are optimized by transmission performance test. The results show that the quality of MCF splicing affects both transmission loss and crosstalk. The spli-cing quality is influenced by end-face treatment, discharge intensity, discharge time, electrode spacing and other parameters.By aligning the fusion splicer controlled by the axis algorithm and optimization of the relevant splicing parameter, the low-loss 7-core fiber splicing is achieved. The typical value of splicing point loss can be less than 0.35dB and crosstalk can be less than-41dB,which can better meet the re-quirements of application for engineering wiring.
