Microstructure and Properties of High Frequency Induction Welded TA2 Titanium Tube after Annealing
The effect of post welding annealing on microstructure and mechanical properties of titanium welded tubes with wall thickness of 0.5 mm was studied by high frequency induction welding. After annea-ling at 800℃,the results show that the appearance color of the titanium welded pipe has no change;the microstructure of the welded joint changes from a dentate serration like α'phase to equiaxed microstruc-ture;the internal grain orientation is consistent, the grain grows significantly, and the distribution of hardness values in each area of the welded joint is more even and decreases significantly. The tensile strength and elongation of the welded joint before annealing are 480.9MPa and 4%,respectively.The ten-sile strength and elongation of the welded joint after annealing are 439.2 MPa and 18%,respectively.The fracture features of the welded joint have obvious ductile fracture characteristics, and the comprehensive mechanical properties have been improved obviously.
