Optimal Design of Low Loss Lc Multi-core Optical Fiber Connector
Multi-core fiber with space division multiplexing is widely used in optical interconnection, and the performance of multi-core fiber connector will directly affect the application of multi-core fiber. In this paper,a new eight-core LC optical fiber connector was designed, and simulation analysis was conducted to investigate the influence of parameters such as fiber core spacing, groove width, and wavelength on the transmission performance of eight-core optical fibers. The feasibility of the designed eight-core optical fiber was verified through simulation results.Subsequently, the experimental preparation process was opti-mized,leading to the prepared eight-core optical fiber connector achieving rotational alignment accuracy within the range of±0.1°,with an average insertion loss of 0.13dB and a return loss of 56.08dB.After un-dergoing multiple repeatability and interchangeability tests the additional loss was less than 0.2dB,indica-ting stable performance of the optical fiber connector.Compared with traditional single mode fiber connec-tors,the eight-core optical fiber connector had lower loss and higher communication capacity.
