Taking the novels of Kazuo Ishiguro who is the winner of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Literature as the research subject,based on the multidisciplinary theory of philosophy and ethics,this study explores the animal ethics embodied in the works,including revering animal's life,granting moral status to ani-mals,and emphasizing the interdependence and symbiosis between human beings and animals with the method of case study and theoretical interpretation.It illustrates that animal ethics implied in Kazuo Ishig-uro's works possess strong contemporary significance and practical value,which offers important insights for the construction of modern ecological civilization.
