Correlation of serum exosomal miR-122 and miR-208a levels with serum NT-proBNP,cardiac function classification, and ventricular remodeling in patients with chronic heart failure
Objective:To investigate the correlation of serum exosomal miR-122 and miR-208a expression with serum N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP),cardiac function classification, and ventricular remodeling in patients with chronic heart failure. Methods:A total of 108 patients with chronic heart failure from May 2019 to May 2021 was enrolled as a case group, and the cases were fur-ther classified into grade Ⅱ subgroup(n=38),grade Ⅲ subgroup(n=52)and grade Ⅳ subgroup(n=18)according to cardiac function grades.Meantime, another 108 healthy individuals were set as the control group.A comparison of serum exosomes miR-122,miR-208a,NT-proBNP,and left ventric-ular mass index(LVMI)was performed between the two groups and among the three subgroups. Then, the correlation of serum miR-122,miR-208a,NT-proBNP,and LVMI with cardiac function classification was analyzed. Results:Serum miR-122 in the case group was significantly lower than that in control group, and miR-208a,NT-proBNP,and LVMI were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistical difference(P<0.05).There was statistically significant difference between the three groups in serum miR-122,miR-208a,NT-proBNP,and LVMI(P<0.05).The se-rum miR-122 of patients in the grade Ⅳ group was significantly lower than that in the grade Ⅲ group and the grade Ⅱ group(P<0.05).The serum miR-122 of patients in the grade Ⅲ group was signifi-cantly lower than that in the grade Ⅱ group(P<0.05).The serum miR-208a,NT-proBNP,and LV-MI in the grade Ⅳ group were significantly higher than those in the grade Ⅲ group and grade Ⅱ group(P<0.05).The serum miR-208a,NT-proBNP,and LVMI of patients in the grade Ⅲ group were significantly higher than those in the grade Ⅱ group(P<0.05).Serum exosomal miR-122 expression was negatively correlated with serum NT-proBNP,LVMI,and cardiac function classification, and se-rum exosomal miR-208a was positively correlated with serum NT-proBNP,LVMI,and cardiac func-tion classification. Conclusion:Serum exosomal miR-122 and 208a levels are significantly correlated with NT-proBNP,cardiac function classification, and ventricular remodeling in patients with chronic heart failure.
