Effects of nutritional status on the efficacy and adverse reactions of lung adenocarcinoma patients receiving immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy
Objective:To explore the effects of nutritional status on the efficacy and adverse reactions of lung adenocarcinoma patients treated with immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy.Methods:Sixty-five patients with lung adenocarcinoma who received immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy in the cancer center of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University were retrospectively ana-lyzed.According to NRS2002,the patients were divided into the non-nutritional risk group(group A)and the nutritional risk group(group B).Short-term efficacy, adverse reactions during treatment, and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results:Among the included patients,32 cases were in the non-nutritional risk group and 33 cases were in the nutritional risk group. The thera-peutic effect of combined immunotherapy in group A was better than that in group B(P<0.05).Nu-tritional status and body mass index(BMI)were significant influencing factors of therapeutic efficacy. The incidence of grade 2 and above dermal toxicity and gastrointestinal toxicity in group A was signifi-cantly lower than that in group B(P<0.05).In terms of quality of life, the scores of physical func-tion,role function, and emotional function in group A were higher than those in group B(P<0.05).Conclusion:A good nutritional status helps to alleviate the toxic and side effects in lung cancer pa-tients receiving immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy, and it also contributes to improving the quality of life.It may be a favorable factor for the beneficial effects of treatment.
