Effect of enema sedation at the synchronous time of napping on improving the one-time success rate of auxiliary examinations in infants and young children
Objective:To explore the application effectiveness of midday enema sedation in assisting exami-nations for infants and toddlers, and to investigate the improvement of the safety and effectiveness of disease diagnosis and treatment in infants and toddlers. Methods:A total of 372 pediatric patients who underwent enema sedation-assisted examinations from September 2023 to February 2024 were included in the study.Among them,166 patients admitted from September to November 2023 were assigned to the control group and received enema sedation at random periods, while 206 patients admit-ted from November 2023 to February 2024 were assigned to the observation group and received mid-day enema sedation during the lunch break from 12:00 to 14:00.Results:The one-time success rate of assisted examinations in the observation group(93.69%)was significantly higher than in the control group(76.50%)(P<0.05).The onset time of sedation was(14.3±3.6)min in the observation group and(22.6±3.7)min in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The average hospitalization time was(7.3±1.7)d in the observation group and(8.3±0.9)d in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:Midday enema sedation can ef-fectively improve the one-time success rate of assisted examinations, enhance the effect of enema, shorten the hospitalization time, reduce the medical cost, and improve patients'satisfaction.
