Objective:To explore the clinical characteristics of children with COVID-19.Methods:The clinical data of 237 children with COVID-19 diagnosed in the Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Hubei Province from December 2022 to February 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, including clini-cal symptoms, imaging data, special examinations, and outcomes. Results:Of the 237 children,149 were male(62.87%)and 88 were female(37.13%).The ages ranged from 5 months to 12 years old. Most of them were school-age children. In terms of clinical classification,222 cases(93.67%)had symptoms,of which 193 had mild infections,29 had moderate infections, and the rest had symptom-atic infections, and no children in severe or critical type were found. The main clinical symptoms of children were fever, nasal symptoms(stuffy nose or runny nose),and pharyngeal symptoms(sore throat and cough),among which the nasal and pharyngeal symptoms were slightly higher except in in-fancy,and the incidence cases gradually increased with age(P>0.05).The manifestations such as ear symptoms(except in infancy),fever, and allergies increased with age, with statistically significant dif-ferences(P<0.05).The main imaging findings on lung CT were ground-glass opacity and small nod-ular changes. The specialized examinations mainly showed nasal turbinate hypertrophy, deviated na-sal septum, congestion or pallor of the nasal mucosa, and enlargement of the adenoids and tonsils. Most of the children were treated on an outpatient basis, and a few were hospitalized;all children had a good prognosis. Conclusion:Children with COVID-19 generally have clinical symptoms, mainly in-cluding fever, nasal congestion, runny nose, and sore throat, but the clinical symptoms are usually mild, and the prognosis is good after treatment.
