In recent years, organ transplantation technology has developed rapidly and has been widely applied.Despite this progress, the shortage of donor organs remains a major challenge that restricts the development of organ transplantation. The advancement of xenotransplantation technology may offer an effective solution to this problem. However, key issues such as immune rejection, coagulation disorders, inflammatory responses, infection risks, and immunosuppressive strategies still need to be addressed. This article reviews the latest research progress in xenotransplantation, including immunological mechanisms, transplant complications, and new technologies,to provide a comprehensive overview of the development in this field. It focuses on xenogeneic rejection, xenozoonosis, and physiological function in xenotransplantation, aiming to offer references and perspectives for promoting the clinical practice and future development of xenotransplantation.
