Objective:To investigate the factors influencing the physical development of preterm and full-term infants in urban areas of Hubei Province,China, and to provide a reference for child health and related clinical practices. Methods:A total of 198 paired newborns were recruited from the Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Hubei Province,Jingzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital, and Shi-yan Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2019 to June 2020.A birth cohort study was adopted to clarify the risk factors of the physical development of preterm and full-term infants.Re-sults:The physical development of premature infants was significantly lower than that of full-term in-fants in all age groups from birth to 12 months old(P<0.01).By using a multiple regression analysis,we found two positive variables(gestational week and birth length)and two negative variables(sex and delivery times),which were associated with the length of preterm infants(P<0.05),meanwhile,there were two positive variables(gestational week and birth weight),and two negative variables(de-livery times and pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome),which were associated with the weight of preterm infants(all P<0.05).Conclusion:The study explored the influencing factors of the physical development of preterm infants in the urban area of Huben Province and the association of gestation weeks with delivery frequency and gestational hypertension, and effective interventions can be adopted according to the influencing factors to promote the growth and development of infants.
