Objective:To explore the application effect of vitamin D combined with high-dose interferon in children with severe hand-foot-mouth disease. Methods:Eighty children with severe hand-foot-mouth disease admitted to Huanggang Central Hospital from May 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects and were divided into two groups according to their admission order.Forty cases in the control group were treated with high-dose interferon, and 40 cases in the study group were supple-mented with vitamin D based on high-dose interferon. Then the time of rash, fever, jitter, and herpes healing,as well as the liver function and nerve function before and after treatment, were compared be-tween the two groups, and the clinical efficacy and safety were evaluated. Results:The duration of rash, fever, jitter, and herpes healing in the study group was shorter than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of the serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate amino-transferase(AST),nerve-specific enolase(NSE),and central nerve-specific protein(S-100β)of chil-dren in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 91.67%,which was significantly higher than the rate of 73.33%in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:The treatment effect of vitamin D combined with high-dose inter-feron on children with severe hand-foot-mouth disease is significant. It can effectively relieve clinical symptoms, improve liver function, protect the nervous function, and has a high level of safety.
