Therapeutic efficacy of 308 nm excimer laser and recombinant type Ⅲ and type ⅩⅦ humanized collagen in the treatment of vitiligo
Objective:To observe and analyze the efficacy of 308 nm excimer laser and recombinant type Ⅲ and type ⅩⅦ humanized collagens in vitiligo treatment.Methods:A total of 44 patients with vitiligo from the Department of Dermatology of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from October 2023 to March 2024 were selected.Twenty-two patients in the 308 nm excimer laser group were treated once a week,while twenty-two patients in the collagen group were treated with recombinant type Ⅲ and type ⅩⅦ humanized collagen mixed at a ratio of 1:1,and injected once a month at the skin le-sions.The recoloration of skin lesions,patient's satisfaction,and the impact on the quality of life were assessed after 3 months of treatment in both groups.Results:After 3 months of treatment,the percentage of skin lesion recoloration area in the 308 nm excimer laser group was 30.17%,77.27%of the patients showed different degrees of pigmentation(including 27.27%with significant recolor-ation),the inelasticity rate was 22.73%,and the patient's satisfaction score was 8.While the percentage of skin lesion recoloration area in the collagen group was 32.74%,90.91%of the patients showed different degrees of hyperpigmentation(including 18.18%significant recoloration),the ineffi-ciency rate was 9.09%,and the patient's satisfaction score was 9.5.There is no significant difference in the efficacy between the two groups(P>0.05).The quality of life in both groups improved after treatment(P<0.05).No adverse reactions occurred in either group.Conclusion:The vitiligo treat-ment with 308 nm excimer laser or recombinant type Ⅲ and type ⅩⅦ humanized collagen is safe and effective,and there is no significant difference in efficacy between the two methods.Recombinant type Ⅲ and type ⅩⅦ humanized collagens injections have longer intervals between treatments than 308 nm excimer laser treatment,which can reduce the frequency of treatments,and at the same time can avoid blisters,burns,and hyperpigmentation of the normal skin around the white patches caused by the laser treatments.
