Evaluation of the efficacy of injectable platelet-rich fibrin combined with 2 940 nm fractional laser in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia
Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of injectable platelet-rich fibrin(i-PRF)and 2 940 nm laser in patients with androgenetic alopecia. Methods:Patients with androgenetic alopecia(AGA)treated in the Department of Dermatology of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from March to December 2023 were selected as study subjects. They were randomly divided into three groups(treat-ment group, positive control group, and negative control group),and each group continued to be treat-ed for 3 months, once a month.According to the Weiss criteria, clinical efficacy before and after treat-ment was evaluated using trichoscopy and scalp ultrasound in the three groups of patients;a question-naire was used to assess subjective symptom scores. Results:After 3 months of treatment,i-PRF combined with 2 940 nm laser treatment for AGA showed a higher efficacy rate than the single laser treat-ment group and the laser combined with the platelet-rich plasma(PRP)treatment group.Improvements in hair density, average hair shaft diameter, scalp dermal thickness, follicular spacing, and inner diame-ter were most significant in the i-PRF combined laser treatment group. Conclusion:The i-PRF injection combined with 2 940 nm fractional laser treatment for androgenetic alopecia can promote follicle growth, reduce scalp oil secretion, and decrease scalp inflammation, demonstrating clinical efficacy and good safety.
