A controlled study of collagen type ⅩⅦ combined with fractional CO2 laser in the treatment of alopecia areata
Objective:To investigate the effectiveness and safety of collagen type ⅩⅦ(COL17)combined with CO2 fractional laser in alopecia areata treatment. Methods:A total of 61 patients with alopecia areata treated in Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from April 2023 to December 2023 were se-lected as the research subjects.According to the random number table method, the enrolled patients were randomly divided into a combined group and a control group. All patients were treated with oral Compound Glycyrrhizin Tablets. At the same time, the control group(30 cases)received CO2 frac-tional laser treatment, while the combined group(31 cases)received COL17 combined with CO2 frac-tional laser treatment.Three months after treatment, the skin lesion morphology under dermoscopy,SALT score, dermal thickness, and blood flow improvement of high-frequency ultrasound were evaluated in both groups. Results:Three months after treatment, the SALT score of the combined group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05);the number of skin lesion morphology under dermoscopy in the combined group was less than that in the control group(P<0.05);the dermal thick-ness and blood flow improvement in the combined group were significantly better than those in the con-trol group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The treatment using COL17 combined with CO2 laser shows sig-nificant efficacy for patients with alopecia areata. It can reactivate hair follicles, improve the terminal hair density in alopecia areata patients,as well as the thickness of the dermis and dermal blood flow lo-cally in the scalp. This treatment is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
