The vernacular newspapers in the late Qing Dynasty was an important new force in the history of modern Chinese newspapers and periodicals.Its rise not only changed the outstanding situation of classical Chinese newspapers and periodicals at that time,but also showed a different style in news busi-ness:highlighting pertinence and practicality in column design and content arrangement,and better serving the public;the pursuit of the unity of spoken and written language and common people in the newspaper language has effectively improved the communication power and influence of the newspaper.In commentary writing,one should emphasize the importance of being easy to understand and profound,which enhances the communication effect of ideological enlightenment.Compared with classical Chinese newspapers and periodicals,vernacular newspapers in the late Qing Dynasty won widespread recognition and love from the readers with its popular form,rich and colorful content.
