The planting area and yield of peach in Hunan Province are around 26 650 hm2 and 10.8X104 t, which all occupied the No. 3 of the whole province, and the output value reached 2.5xl08 yuan. At present, there were still some problems in cultivation of peach in Hunan Province, such as low unit yield, less area of scale planting, illogical structure of varieties, low level of planting technique, anomalous seedling quality and backward treatment after harvest, processing and sale. Therefore, to promote the development of peach industry in Hunan Province, it suggested that enhancing scientific guiding level, encouraging scale planting, increasing developmental level of processing products, strengthening storage and fresh-keeping techniques for fresh peach, and expanding market for products.
