Influences of Karst Habitat Simulation on Growth and Physiology of Delavaya toxocarpa Franch, a Typical Restoration Tree Species
In order to explore the influences of Karst geological structure on growth and physiology of one-year-old Delavaya toxocarpa Franch, the double layer geological characteristics of Karst was simulated using the water supply layered simulation column (soil layer-rock layer-karst water layer),and water gradient (field capacity was 30%-40%,50%-60% and 70%-80%,respectively) treatment was conducted. The results showed that along with the strengthening soil water stress, increment of plant height and ground diameter of Delavaya toxocarpa Franch decreased, relative water content and chlorophyll content in leaf all decreased significantly, namely the plant growth was obviously inhibited. With the stress strengthening and the time extending, the contents of soluble protein and soluble sugar in leaf all showed an increasing trend, but the MDA content showed a trend of firstly decreased and then increased. Therefore, plant adapt to environmental changes by increasing osmolytes accumulation, thereby improving the drought resistance.
