Grey Relational Analysis on Main Agronomic Traits and Yield of Common High-yield Maize Varieties
37 high yielding maize varieties whose average yield was more than 7 500 kg/hm2 two seasons one year from 2008 to 2012 were used as research object, from Guangxi Normal Corn Regional Trial, grey relational analysis on main agronomic traits and yield of maize was carried out.The results showed that correlation between agronomic traits and yield was as follow:ear diameter > 100-seed weight > rows per ear > bald tip length > seed producing rate > plant height > ear length > ear height, among them,diameter,100-seed weight and rows per ear had greater impact on yield. This showed that in order to promote yield,in the work of maize yield breeding, variety with ear thick(greater than 5.00 cm),grain heavier(100-seed weight greater than 32 g),ear line more (14~16 lines) should be selected, meanwhile, ear high, bald longer should be reduced, and other traits were kept the current level. Finally, the results were consistent with the regression analysis, therefore,we could take it as theory basis for guiding high yield breeding and improved varieties of maize.
