Sequencing and Annotation of the Leaf Transcriptome of Lagerstroemia indica'Ebony Fire'
The high-throughput transcriptome sequencing for the leaves of Lagerstroemia indica'Ebony Fire'yielded 23 791 unigenes after de novo assembly by Trinity(2.8.6).Among them,91.86%of the unigenes were annotated in NR,SWISS,COG,GO,and KEGG.The NR database annotated the largest number of unigenes, which accounted for 91.93%,followed by SWISS(67.95%),COG(60.43%),GO(51.37%),and KEGG(35.43%).Only one species of Punica granatum L.was compared in the NR database, indicating the high sequence homology between L.indica L.and P.granatum L..A total of 4 775 SSR loci were screened out from the transcriptome, involving six nucleotide repeat types,of which A/T and AG/CT accounted for the largest proportion. The mining of genes involved in pigment synthesis revealed 18 genes associated with flavonoids and anthocyanin.UGT79B1,BZ1,and UGT75C1 in the anthocyanin synthesis pathway may be the key genes for L.indica'Ebony Fire'to produce purple black leaves.
