The Present Situation of and Suggestions for Potato Industry Development in Shanxi Province
The present situation,advantages and limitation factors of potato industry development in Shanxi Province are summarized,and targeted suggestions are put forward to help Shanxi potato industry achieve high-quality development.In terms of the development status,the total output of potatoes in Shanxi Province increases steadily,the unit yield increases rapidly,the mechanization level of plowing,sowing and harvesting is improved,the variety structure is continuously perfected,and the industrial technology system is basically formed.The potato industry development in Shanxi Province has advantages of concentrated layout of major producing areas,strong support from government policies,and relatively high potato income,but it also faces problems such as rising potato production costs,slow promotion of virus-free seed potatoes,relatively single variety structure,relatively backward storage facilities,and insufficient brand building.Hence,countermeasures and suggestions for the development of the potato industry in Shanxi Province are put forward:to refine and implement government support policies;to promote variety diversification and virus-free seed potatoes;to promote the centralization and intelligentization of storage facilities;to strengthen brand building through new media.
