Effects of Soil Conditioner on the Physiological Characteristics and Heavy Metal Uptake of Early Rice
Field plot experiments were carried out in Xiangtan and Zhuzhou to study the effect of applying"Zhongwang"soil conditioner on early rice in central Hunan.Three treatments were designed, including conventional fertilization, conventional fertilization + quicklime, and conventional fertilization +"Zhongwang"soil conditioner,to study the effects of soil conditioner on the growth and heavy metal uptake of early rice in central Hunan. The results showed that the soil conditioner promoted the growth of early rice in central Hunan, with insignificant yield-increasing effect. However,it significantly increased soil pH,alleviated soil acidification, and reduced the cadmium content in soil and rice grain.Compared with conventional fertilization, the additional application of quicklime and"Zhongwang"soil conditioner reduced the total cadmium in soil by 15.74%-20.64%and 18.45%-23.25%,respectively.
