Effect of Integration of Water and Fertilizer on a Mountain Ponkan Orchard
A field plot experiment was conducted to study the effects of integration of water and fertilizer on soil physical and chemical properties, plant nutrients, fruit quality, and economic benefits of a mountain ponkan orchard in Luxi. The results showed that compared with conventional fertilization, the integration of water and fertilizer elevated the acidic soil pH value by 0.40 and increased the content of organic matter, available nitrogen, available phosphorus, available potassium, exchangeable calcium, exchangeable magnesium, and available boron in soil by 11.48%,30.92%,7.20%,3.02%,52.92%,10.48%,and 86.96%,respectively.The integration increased the content of total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total potassium, total calcium, total magnesium, and total boron in leaves by 3.15%,3.67%,13.36%,25.52%,29.27%,and 85.28%,respectively.The integration increased the total nitrogen, total potassium, total calcium, total magnesium, and total boron in fruits by 50%,37.95%,51.05%,25.86%,and 112.30%,respectively.In addition, the integration of water and fertilizer increased the single fruit weight, edible rate, soluble solids, and ratio of total soluble solids to titratable acids by 117.66%,8.76%,28.57%,and 77.12%,respectively,while decreased the titratable acid content by 27.40%.Finally,the net income of ponkan was increased by 171 066.3 yuan/hm2.In conclusion, the integration of water and fertilizer improves the soil fertility and promote the plant absorption of nutrients to improve the fruit quality and yield of ponkan, being suitable for demonstration and promotion in ponkan production.
