Treatment of Agricultural Non-Point Source Pollution in the Baxingcha Branch of Yuanjiang River by Source Reduction-Circulation-Pollution Control
Agricultural non-point source pollution is a major source of pollution affecting the water quality and ecosystem of rivers. In this study, the treatment mode of source reduction-circulation-pollution control was implemented for agricultural non-point source pollution in the Baxingcha branch of Yuanjiang River, and the treatment effect was monitored and evaluated. The results showed that before treatment, animal breeding was the major source of pollution, while the pollution from surface runoff, planting, and aquaculture only accounted for 6.3%,6.9%,and 4.2%,respectively.After treatment, the emissions of total nitrogen(TN),total phosphorus(TP),and chemical oxygen demand(COD)decreased by 472.69,66.10,and 1 866.47 t/a(88.21%,92.36%,and 78.84%),respectively.The treatment demonstrated satisfactory interception and purification of COD,NH4+-N,TN,and TP in the water, which showcased the average removal rates of 58.22%,74.33%,60.11%,and 61.05%,respectively.Furthermore,the water quality remained stable after treatment. In summary, the treatment of source reduction-circulation-pollution control reduces agricultural non-point source pollution in the Baxingcha branch of Yuanjiang River, which provides a reference for treating non-point source pollution of small river branches in Dongting Lake area.
