Field Control Effects of Insecticides on Rice Stem Borer
To screen effective insecticides in the control of resistant rice stem borer(Chilo suppressalis),a field experiment was conducted in 2023 on the control effects of cyproflanilide, abamectin,Metarhizium anisopliae, monosultap, and spinetoram in Lianyuan City,Hunan Province,China. The study showed significant differences in the control effects among the tested insecticides. On days 14 and 21 after insecticide application, the control effects were significantly higher with 10%cyproflanilide DC 600 mL/hm2 and 25%spinetoram WG 180 g/hm2 as compared with other insecticides. Therefore, cyproflanilide and spinetoram were effective in the control of rice stem borer. Both insecticides showed slow action but long duration of effect. They can be used in combination with fast-acting insecticides for better control performance.
