Silicon-Calcium Soil Conditioner Reduces the Accumulation of Cadmium and Arsenic in Rice Exposed to Compound Contamination
With"Taiyou 390"as the test variety, the effects of silicon-calcium(Ca-Si)soil conditioner on the accumulation of cadmium(Cd)and arsenic(As)in rice were studied.A randomized block design was adopted for field experiments, which were conducted in the farmlands contaminated by both Cd and As in Liuyang(LY),Linwu(LW),and Cili(CL).The results showed that the application of Ca-Si soil conditioner increased the rice yield by 4.18%-11.26%.Compared with the conventional treatment, the soil conditioner reduced the content of Cd in rice by 40.63%,21.62%,and 41.67%and the content of As by 29.51%,25.20%,and 15.38%in LY,LW,and CL,respectively.According to the comprehensive evaluation of Cd-As synchronous passivation effect, the Cd-As synchr-onous reduction effect in LY,LW and CL was 33.40%,23.95%and 24.58%.Therefore,the Ca-Si soil conditioner can synchronously reduce the Cd and As content in rice in the farmland exposed to compound contamination, thus controlling the accumulation of Cd and As in rice.
