Dynamic Monitoring of Winter Wheat Planting Area Changes in Qingdao Based on GF-1 Satellite Imagery
This study monitored the winter wheat planting area and its dynamics in Qingdao, aiming to help relevant departments optimize the planting structure and rationally arrange agricultural production. The GF-1 WFV satellite remote sensing images of the optimal phase were used for extracting the winter wheat planting areas in Qingdao from 2014 to 2021 by the supervised classification method. The post-classification comparison method was employed to analyze the dynamic changes in winter wheat planting area. The results showed that the winter wheat planting area in Qingdao ranged from 217 thousand to 248 thousand hectares during 2014-2021,with the largest area in 2016,the smallest area in 2020,and the annual fluctuations ranging from 3 thousand to 27 thousand hectares. The planting area extracted by remote sensing showed small differences(no more than 6.5%)from that provided by the statistical department. The difference in conversion between wheat and other ground features was small.During 2014-2021,the area of wheat that converted to other ground features ranged from 80 thousand to 109 thousand hectares every year, while the area of other ground features that converted to wheat ranged from 79 thousand to 114 thousand hectares.
