Single-Seed Sowing Density of a Small-Seed Peanut Cultivar 'Anhua 3'
To explore the most suitable single-seed sowing density of the small-seed peanut cultivar'Anhua 3',a comparative experiment was conducted with single-seed sowing at five densities and conventional double-seed sowing(CK).The results showed that the agronomic traits of plants in the single-seed sowing groups were not significantly different from those in CK when the sowing density was≤270 000 seeds/hm2.With the increase in sowing density, the main stem height and lateral branch length increased. When the density was≥300 000 seeds/hm2,the main stem height and lateral branch length in the single-seed sowing groups were significantly higher than those in CK.The single-seed sowing groups had higher number of full pods per plant and higher productivity per plant than CK,and the improving degrees of single-seed sowing relative to CK decreased as the sowing density increased. The 100-pod weight decreased as the density increased, and it was significantly lower in single-seed sowing groups than in CK when the sowing density was≥330 000 seeds/hm2.The peanut yield followed a parabolic curve as the sowing density increased. When the density was within the range of 270 000-300 000 seeds/hm2,single-seed sowing groups had significantly higher yields than CK.The yield and net output value were the highest when sowing was carried out with the density of 300 000 seeds/hm2 and the plant and row spacing of 10.0 cm×33.3 cm.The suitable density and plant and row spacing for single-seed sowing of'Anhua 3'in Anyang was 270 000-300 000 seeds/hm2 and 10.0-11.1 cm×33.3 cm,respectively.
