Toxicity of Niclosamide Ethanolamine Salt and Metaldehyde to Pomacea canaliculata Lamarck
Indoor toxicity tests were conducted to compare the resistance of Pomacea canaliculata Lamarck of different growth stages and genders to niclosamide ethanolamine salt and metaldehyde. The results showed that the median lethal concentrations(LC50)of niclosamide ethanolamine salt to the larvae and male adults of P.canaliculata Lamarck were 0.014 mg/L and 0.699 mg/L,respectively.The toxicity of niclosamide ethanolamine salt to P.canaliculata Lamarck gradually decreased within the growth period, and niclosamide ethanolamine salt showcased no significant difference in the toxicity to male and female P.canaliculata Lamarck. The highest LC50 of metaldehyde to the larvae was 13.096 mg/L.Metaldehyde showed stronger toxicity to male adults(LC50 of 0.587 mg/L)than to female adults(LC50 of 0.723 mg/L).The toxicity of metaldehyde to P.canaliculata Lamarck gradually increased within the growth period. The combination of niclosamide ethanolamine salt with metaldehyde at the ratio of 3:2 exerted the strongest toxicity, with the toxicity index reaching 1.78.
