Atlas of Spatial and Temporal Changes of Land Use in the Aksu River Basin During 2000-2020
According to the atlas theory, this study explored the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics and patterns of land use in the Aksu River Basin based on the Landsat remote sensing images and DEM data from 2000 to 2020.The results were as follows.(1)During 2000-2020,the cultivated land in the Aksu River Basin was expanding within and around the existing cultivated areas, mainly from grasslands and unused land, with an expansion area of 2 951.58 km²,and the area remained basically stable after 2015.(2)The construction land presented an expansion trend around the existing construction land, mainly from cultivated land, with an expansion area of 206.84 km²,and the area remained basically stable after 2015.(3)The water area showcased a narrowing trend and mainly developed into unused lands and grasslands, with a reduction area of 1 653.89 km²,which was the largest at the glacier and snow areas of Wensu County. The water area showed a growing trend after 2015.Overall,the land use in the Aksu River Basin was transitioning from a model of expanding cultivated land and construction land to a sustainable development model with consideration to ecological progress. The rapid changes of the main land types became basically controllable.
