Risk Assessment of Farm Chemical Residues in Vegetables and Fruits in Yueyang City
To understand the status of farm chemical residues in vegetables and fruits in Yueyang City and the dietary intake risks for residents,we collected 736 samples of vegetables and fruits from Yueyang City in 2023.Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and high-performance liquid chromatography were used for quantitative analysis of residues of 36 farm chemicals.Risk assessment was carried out for the detected residues in the samples. The results showed that the detection rates of farm chemical residues in vegetables and fruits were 39.71%and 64.52%,with the over-limit rates of 0.33%and 0.81%,respectively.In vegetables,acetamiprid(14.38%)was the farm chemical with the highest detection rate, and thiamethoxam(0.16%)and imidacloprid(0.16%)had the highest over-limit rate.In fruits,cyhalothrin(41.18%)had the highest detection rate and carbendazim(2.44%)had the highest over-limit rate.Among vegetables, solanaceous vegetables(65.77%)had the highest detection rate of farm chemicals, and legumes had the highest over-limit rate(3.23%).Among fruits, citrus fruits had the highest detection rate(100%)and over-limit rate(25.00%).In addition,44.86%of vegetable samples and 50.00%of fruit samples were detected with two or more farm chemicals. The%ADI and%ARfD were less than 100%for all the farm chemicals in vegetables and fruits. The maximum index of food safety(IFSmax),chronic IFS(IFSc),and integrated IFS(IFSi)for individual farm chemicals were all less than 1.The results suggest that farm chemical residues exist in vegetables and fruits in Yueyang City, while the resulting dietary intake risks are relatively low.Nonetheless, regulatory authorities still need to enhance monitoring of farm chemical residues in vegetables and fruits and improve the management of farm chemical use.
