Through field research,collection,organization,and analysis of production data and summary materials from various demonstration base counties of the"Three-One Project[research innovation for high-yield,eco-friendly,and high-quality grain production with the goal of planting grain crops in three-fen(200 m2)land to ensure the food supply of one human]"in Hunan,this study analyzed the demonstration effects and suitable areas of different production modes under the"Three-One Project"in this province from 2018 to 2023.The results showed that there were significant differences in the annual grain yield of each demonstration base county under different production modes of the"Three-One Project",and the ranking of grain yields varied greatly between different regions and between different years.The annual grain yield in the second phase of the double-season super rice mode,ratoon rice mode,potato mode,and spring maize mode significantly increased or remained at a high level compared with that in the first phase,mainly due to the selection of high-quality varieties and the promotion of advanced support technologies.The significant decrease in income growth in the second phase of the rice-crayfish mode was mainly due to the large fluctuations in crayfish prices.The results indicated that the double-season super rice mode was mainly suitable for the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan area,the Dongting Lake area,and southern Hunan.The ratoon rice mode and the potato mode were mainly suitable for western Hunan.The spring maize mode was mainly suitable for western Hunan and the Dongting Lake area.The rice-crayfish mode was mainly suitable for the Dongting Lake area.The"Three-One Project"has achieved multiple goals of increasing grain yield,raising farmers'income,and protecting the eco-environment by establishing an efficient year-round planting system,promoting eco-friendly and high-yield technologies,and improving scientific and technological services.Future research can focus on the adaptability of the project in different ecological zones,the optimization path of technology integration,and the policy incentive mechanism to promote the implementation and deepening of the"Three-One Project"on a larger scale.
